hi all
no pics of anything today - I'm in a rush because I have my first ever day of supply work!! I'll be working in the Special Education Unit at my sons school. Spec. Ed. is my background but I'm really nervous. I know its going to be a big day for me so I will be getting spag sauce out of the freezer tonight for dinner - easy!
For those who have been asking (yes Sandie,Michelle... thats you LOL), my cards have been using High Hopes Stamps. Their challenges are posted Monday (aussie time) on their blog. I was originally introduced to the stamps (which I get as just rubber, and mount onto a block for stamping) by my friend AMY, who is now an Aussie contributor on thier DT. Amy only lives 5 mins from my house, so I have been borrowing a few from her to get me by until I do another order. Speaking of orders, if you are interested in getting some stamps, let me know and I'll do a bulk order which will save on postage - international postage can be a killer!
Ok I'm outta here, I'll let you know how I went !!!

High Hopes challenge

well...
another week, another challenge. Actually I'm now looking forward to Mondays posting of the challenge (I don't get to see the challenge until Monday, Australia time) because Mondays are my day at home. This weeks challenge was to use pink and brown - I love that colour combo but I always struggle with it for some reason.

High Hopes Challenge
crazy cropping!!

this week over at DIVAS there is yet another round of crazy cropping. 5 challenges posted throughout the week with a special friday night get together with chatter, prizes etc (there is bound to be a surprise - Michelle generally has something special up her sleeve). All challenges are complete with a winner and prize of spending money in the shop! The major prize for the crop is the title of "queen of the crop" which the winner gets a DT pack and a 10 week guest DT spot with Divas! All you need to do to be eligible is to complete all challenges and pretty much be an active member during crazy crop.
Today was challenge ONE - a technique card from me. Check it out in the forum!
Later in the week I will be doing a second challenge - an inspiration challenge. Not that you will get many hints from them, but here are some sneeky peeks of my sample!!

...to our little friend Baby Jess!
We went along to celebrate her second birthday yesterday - the weather wasn't kind for photos but I managed one or two.

Its been a loooong time since I've done one of their challenges but I feel more confident using my HH images on cards now. So here it is, a boyish card. I love walk about wally and this card came together really well. I'm still having issues with blending although I think its mainly because I'm always in a hurry and don't let the paper dry properly in between layers. Hmmm - learning from my mistakes LOL.

Happy mothers day
a special hello to all the mums out there -hope you were spoilt. My day went like this - woke up and wrapped myself up in a blanket to sit on the lounge. Jack and Alesia both bought me mum mugs with coffee and chocolates in them at their school stalls LOL. Scottie (aka Jack actually lol) got me a coconut scented candle. I also got homemade cards and a special handmade necklace from Jack. My parents were here, so I gave mum a travel rug I made, flowers and chocolates. She left the flowers with me because they are currently moving out of the house into the van LOL. Hubby made a cooked breaky for everyone, I passed and had my shake. The rest of the day just went by in a blur, we had lunch in the media room whilst watching Horton Hears the Whoo. I've felt very relaxed all day.
More cards - these are card fronts actually which are for a swap. Because of the poor weather, I can't photograph the 2 other High Hopes cards to pop up but I need sunshine!!! Yes, I'm into the card making at the moment, I am enjoying it and a bit of sewing!

A card
I have 2 lots of little girls birthdays to prepare for this week, one for Jess, one for Kayla (hi gals !!)
I've borrowed some yummy stamps and have had fun with them. Lighting here is poor due to overcast weather so I had trouble taking pics.

mothers day
Ah, its that time again - mothers day stall at school. Jacks school, if I haven't already said so, is just fantastic, very old fashioned and community orientated. They've asked for some donations for the stall so I've been plodding along making goodies over the weekend.
I'm all done now and have lots to send in....
12 pairs of earrings
6 lavender eye pillows
6 felt pocket tissues
10 boxes of sweets (they hold choc eclair lollies)
4 decorated candles
9 packs of cuppa and cookies (homemade cookies from last night)
Thats 47 items I think?? Hope they raise a bit of funds for the school and some mums out there get a little gift they enjoy.
In other news, we had our 7th wedding anniversary over the weekend - lunch at La Porchetta LOL. Alesia spent the weekend being spoilt by my dad, whilst mum is in Melbourne visiting my Nan and Pop. Tonight we have school interview for Alesia, and a tupperware party here. Yes, very busy. I've been doing a few DT projects, just can't seem to get them finished!!! Scott loves daycare. I've applied to TRACER (employment agency for supply teaching) as of today, have all my forms filled out and am so nervous its not funny, I don't know where to begin in a classroom these days, but I'm sure after the first few days back into it I'll be ok. I hope.

Card Mag
Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft....
I got a copy of this today, flicked through and realised that 2 buddies - aka Melleny A and Amy W - are featured so much in it! And oh yeah, you get to the back and there are my cards too - first and only card publication. Congrats to my friends!
